Campus Connect ("we", "our", "us") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our platform at https://campus-connect-3a272.web.app.

1. Information We Collect

Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, college name, department, year of study
Verification Documents (Sellers only): College ID card, Aadhaar card, selfie photo — used solely for identity verification
Payment Information: UPI ID for receiving payments (sellers only); card/UPI payments are processed by Razorpay and we do not store payment credentials
Transaction Data: Order history, items purchased, transaction amounts
Usage Data: Pages visited, products viewed, search queries (for improving the platform)

2. How We Use Your Information

To verify seller identity and ensure marketplace authenticity
To process orders and payments
To facilitate buyer-seller communication
To provide customer support and resolve disputes
To improve our platform features
To comply with applicable Indian laws

3. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely using Google Firebase (Firestore Database) and Cloudinary (for image storage). All data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. Verification documents (ID, Aadhaar) are visible only to platform administrators and are never shared publicly or with third parties.

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only with:

Razorpay: for payment processing (RBI-regulated payment gateway)
Other users: only your business name, product listings, and ratings are visible to buyers; sellers see your name and order details to fulfill orders
Law enforcement: only when required by Indian law or valid legal process

5. Your Rights (Under India's DPDP Act 2023)

Right to access your personal data

Right to delete your account and data
Right to withdraw consent at any time
Right to grievance redressal within 7 days

6. Cookies

We use minimal cookies for authentication session management and cart state. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Children's Privacy

Our platform is intended for college students aged 17 and above. Users below 18 must obtain parental consent before registering.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email to registered users at least 7 days in advance.

Terms of Service

Welcome to Campus Connect. By creating an account or using our platform, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. Please read them carefully.

1. Eligibility

You must be:

A current student of Dr. N.G.P. Arts and Science College, Coimbatore (or a verified partner college)
At least 17 years of age (parental consent required if below 18)
In possession of a valid, current college ID card

2. Account Registration

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You may not create accounts for others or transfer your account.

3. Seller Responsibilities

You must be a verified, currently-enrolled student to list products
All product listings must be accurate, complete, and not misleading
You must only list items you own and have the right to sell
You agree to deliver products as described within the stated timeframe
You agree to a 10% platform commission deducted from each completed sale
You authorize Campus Connect to process your payouts to your registered UPI ID within 7 days of order completion

4. Prohibited Items

The following are strictly not allowed on Campus Connect:

Alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, or any controlled substances
Weapons, fireworks, or hazardous materials
Counterfeit goods or pirated content
Adult or explicit content
Hacked accounts, stolen goods, or illegal items
Items prohibited by Dr. N.G.P. College rules

5. Buyer Responsibilities

You must pay for orders in full at checkout
You are responsible for collecting or receiving products as coordinated with the seller
You agree not to raise false complaints, false refund claims, or chargebacks
You must mark orders as "received" promptly after delivery

6. Payment & Settlement

All payments are processed by Razorpay (RBI-regulated). Sellers receive payouts via UPI within 7 days of order completion, net of the 10% platform commission. Campus Connect is not responsible for delays caused by Razorpay or your bank.

7. Prohibited Activities

Soliciting buyers/sellers to transact outside the platform to avoid commission
Creating fake or duplicate accounts
Posting fake reviews or ratings
Harassment, threats, or abuse toward other users
Submitting false verification documents
Any activity that violates Indian law

8. Account Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these terms, with or without prior notice. In cases of fraud or illegal activity, we may report users to college authorities or law enforcement.

9. Platform Liability

Campus Connect is a peer-to-peer marketplace. We do not own, manufacture, or guarantee any products listed by sellers. We are not liable for product quality, condition, or disputes between buyers and sellers beyond our mediation efforts.

10. Intellectual Property

The Campus Connect platform, logo, and branding are proprietary. Product photos uploaded by sellers remain their intellectual property but grant Campus Connect a non-exclusive license to display them on the platform.

11. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India.

Refund & Cancellation Policy

      We want every transaction on Campus Connect to be smooth. If something goes wrong, we're here to help.
    

1. Order Cancellation

You may cancel an order at no charge before the seller marks it as "shipped" or "ready for pickup". Once an order is shipped or prepared, cancellation is not guaranteed and is subject to seller agreement.

2. Refund Eligibility

You are eligible for a full refund in the following situations:

Seller fails to deliver the product within 7 days of order confirmation
Product received is significantly different from the listing description or photos
Product arrives damaged or defective (photo evidence required)
Order was cancelled before the seller began processing
You were charged but the order was not confirmed due to a technical error

3. How to Request a Refund

Go to Order Details in the app and tap "Request Refund"
Select a reason and upload photo evidence if applicable
Our team reviews your request within 48 hours
If approved, the refund is processed to your original payment method via Razorpay within 5–7 working days

4. Non-Refundable Items

Perishable food items once delivered and accepted
Customized or personalized products made to order
Digital goods (notes, PDFs, study materials) once accessed or downloaded
Services already rendered (tutoring sessions, skill classes, etc.)
Items damaged due to buyer misuse after delivery

5. Dispute Resolution

If a buyer and seller cannot agree on a refund outcome, Campus Connect will mediate based on evidence provided by both parties (chat history, photos, order records). Our mediation decision is final and binding on both parties.

6. Platform Commission on Refunds

For approved refunds, the 10% platform commission is also refunded to the buyer in full. The seller bears no commission on refunded orders.

Shipping & Delivery Policy

      Campus Connect is a hyperlocal marketplace — all deliveries happen within your college campus. We do not offer national or international shipping.
    

1. Delivery Methods

Campus Pickup: Buyer collects from seller at an agreed on-campus location (canteen, library, department, etc.)
Hostel Delivery: Seller delivers directly to buyer's hostel room within Dr. N.G.P. campus
Class Handover: Seller hands over the product before or after a shared class
Digital Delivery: For digital products (notes, PDFs, templates), delivered via in-app chat or email link

2. Delivery Timeline

Same-day delivery: For most orders confirmed before 2 PM on college working days
Next-day delivery: For orders placed after 2 PM or on college holidays
Maximum timeline: 3 working days from order confirmation

Buyer and seller coordinate delivery timing directly through the in-app chat.

3. Delivery Charges

There are no delivery charges. Since all transactions are within campus, deliveries are free between buyer and seller.

4. Failed or Missed Delivery

If a seller fails to deliver within 3 days of order confirmation and does not respond to buyer messages, the buyer is eligible for a full refund. Repeated delivery failures may result in the seller's account being reviewed or suspended.

5. Delivery Confirmation

The buyer must mark the order as "Received" in the app within 3 days of delivery. If not marked within 5 days of the expected delivery date, the order is automatically marked received and seller payout is initiated.

6. Service Area
